HOW IT ALL STARTED
My story began long before RISEABOVE.
At 12 years old, a routine sports physical uncovered a condition that required annual monitoring. For years, I went through regular ultrasounds, never imagining they would lead to anything more.
Then everything changed.
During one of those routine appointments, doctors discovered a small mass. After months of follow up scans, surgery became the only option. I went into the procedure believing it would simply be a biopsy.
When I woke up, the first question I asked my mom was,
"Did they take it?"
She nodded.
Moments later, I learned I had testicular cancer.
At 19 years old, my life changed overnight.
The next five years were filled with scans, uncertainty, and the hope of hearing two simple words:
Cancer free.
The cancer was gone.
But my hardest battle was just beginning.
THE TURNING POINT
Beating cancer didn't automatically heal what was happening inside me.
Although my body recovered, my mindset didn't.
For years, I allowed my past to define my future. I questioned why everything had happened, struggled with my faith, and carried fear, anger, and insecurity into every area of my life.
Then I realized something that changed everything.
I couldn't control what had happened to me.
But I could control who I chose to become because of it.
That decision marked the beginning of a new chapter.
I committed to rebuilding my life physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Fitness became more than exercise. It became a daily reminder that resilience is built one choice at a time.
Every workout.
Every challenge.
Every setback.
Became an opportunity to grow stronger.
RISEABOVE wasn't born when I survived cancer.
It was born when I decided cancer would never define me.

Today, I have the privilege of living a life I once thought might never be possible.
I'm blessed to be married to an incredible wife and to be the father of two amazing children. They remind me every day why resilience matters and why choosing hope is always worth it.
Looking back, I would never choose the hardships I faced.
But I can see how every challenge shaped the man, husband, father, and founder I've become.
RISEABOVE isn't just my story.
It's an invitation for others to discover that their story isn't over either.
