On Campus Workshops
The most dynamic & critical of all, this workshop introduces the
students to the foundation of youth leadership - character &
confidence building. An after school workshop focuses on enhancing self esteem, continued
education, and encourages pursuit of goals, dreams, & aspirations.

Mentoring Program
Mentors are provided for students according to similar career &
scholastic interests. The mentor serves as a guiding light to the
student, and give options & alternatives to reach goals. Options are offered
but the final decision is left to the student.

Teachers Loyally Care (TLC)
A group of loyal teachers from various high schools offer their
expertise on a broad range of subject matters. A tutorial service is
provided to students who attend schools other than the one the teacher is
employed. An open learning forum for all students.

Youth Employment Services (YES)
Rise Above provides a job posting & announcement service to youth
and assists them in seeking summer and after school employment.

Job Referral
Rise Above offers letter of recommendations to potential employers of
our youth. Since most high school students have yet to hold their first jobs, these letters serve as character reference conduits and
springboards them into employment.

Career Guidance & Consulting
Informal training in posture, gestures and interviewing. As well as
guidance on presentation skills, interfacing with prospects for college, jobs, internships.
|
|
Risen Image
A hands on instruction to proper application of cosmetics, daywear,
accessories, and presence. Demonstrations show students how to project a positive image, a winning smile & a good public look.

Teen Summits
Annual summits are sponsored to provide youth with network
opportunities, exposure, confidence building, interpersonal relationships
and diversity training.

Stand Up!
Make us laugh! Students who participate in this four (4) week
workshop are aspiring Comedians. They learn comic structure, stage presence, timing, handling hecklers, etc. In addition,
theyre given a monthly opportunity to perform before their peers.

Expressions
Aspiring artists such as writers, actors, poets, etc. are taught
stage presence, timing, lighting, crew support, handling stage fright. They are provided a monthly audience of peers to demonstrate their
talents and gifts.

Positive Meditations
Reduce stress & relax! This workshop demonstrates the relaxation
techniques such as breathing, stress relief, quiet time, energy flow, and other principles of ease.

Speak Out
Monthly forum for students, speakers, teachers and volunteers to
gather & have open mike session about issues/concern.
|
|
Peace Keepers Academy (PKA)
Youth are encouraged to promote peace in their environments by
seeking to understand & resolve conflict before it becomes unmanageable.

Connections
Provides a Network opportunity for youth. This gives youth from
various schools the opportunity to meet & form a buddy system with youth who have similar interests. Together they plan ways to
successfully reach their goals.

A favorite of our Directors, this program encourages each youth to
actively provide a free community service. The choice is made by the youth and can include labors of love such as mowing the
lawn of an elderly neighbor, running errands for a disabled person, reading to convalescent residents, baby-sitting, etc.

Resume Writing Workshop
This hands-on workshop teaches youth how to construct & write a resume.

$$ Dealing with Dollars$$
A money management workshop; youth learn how to handle, save, &
invest money Also, how to balance a checkbook and the proper use of credit cards.
